updated 1:52 PM EDT, Thu March 22, 2012 (CNN) -- An East Texas man accused of killing his mother, father and brother in what may have been a prelude to a mass shooting -- possibly at a school -- had a penchant for studying the work of serial killers, law enforcement officials said Thursday.

This man had problems. He needs help and it's a good thing he was arrested before he could commit the mass shooting to harm many more people.

Human remains found near a small Texas airport Tuesday could be those of a Colorado City teen who has been missing for more than a year. 13-year-old Hailey Dunn was reported missing on Dec. 28, 2010. She had last been seen at home the day before by her mother's boyfriend, Shawn Adkins, who police have labeled a person of interest in her disappearance.

A Philadelphia child is dead and his parents in custody charged with beating and starving the boy to death. Police say 6-year-old Khalil Wimes weighed less than 30 pounds when he died Monday night of blunt-force trauma to the head.

A 32-year-old woman from Iraq who was found severely beaten next to a threatening note saying "go back to your country" died on Saturday. Hanif Mohebi, the director of the San Diego chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said he met with Shaima Alawadi's family members in the morning and was told that she was taken off life support around 3 p.m.

updated 11:10 PM EDT, Sun March 25, 2012 (CNN) -- A San Francisco man was arrested and charged with murder Sunday, two days after five people were found dead in a residence in that northern California city, police said. The victims were found around 7:45 a.m.

SEATTLE - A 3-year-old boy fatally shot himself with a gun he found in a car while his family stopped for gas early Wednesday at a gas station in the western U.S. state of Washington, police said. It was the third recent shooting by a child in western Washington.

You guys are absolutely right. Why would the parents have a deadly weapon in their car? Were they that in fear that they would put their child in harms way?

(CNN) -- A drug counselor at California high school pleaded not guilty Wednesday to secretly videotaping students engaged in sexual activity with each other, and to possessing child pornography. Gilbert Olivares, 34, turned himself in late Monday, according to his attorney and the Salinas Police Department. His bail was set at $1 million.

Who would trust this guy as a counselor.? He doesn't even look friendly or welcoming like a counselor should. I would like to know how the kids got in there and how he knew to have the video camera on at that time? This is just ridiculous though! I can't believe it!

(CNN) -- Two male nurses face murder charges in Uruguay after reportedly admitting to killing at least 16 patients in two hospitals in the country's capital. One of the men has been charged with five aggravated homicides, while the other has been charged with 11 aggravated homicides, Judge Rolando Vomero said in an interview Sunday with CNN affiliate Teledoce, noting that the two men appeared to have acted independently of each other.

That is the worst thing you could do!! If you feel like you need to kill your kids get away from them, and go get some help. She just ruined 3 perfect little girls lives.

That's wrong in every way possible. Who is really able to shoot their own kids? Something really has to be wrong with you.

I'm sorry, but if you're seeking help, and the next day go off and do this. Then something is seriously wrong. The mom only thought about herself in this situation, and not the lives of her daughters, or the feelings of her husband.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A 25-year-old Lincoln man has been arrested, accused of child abuse because of several injuries to his 13-week-old son. Police say Victor Patterson Sr. was arrested after the boy's mother took her son to a Lincoln emergency room. She told doctors the boy, Victor Patterson Jr., kept vomiting.

You don't have to shoot someone for being racist, you could talk to them about it instead of killing. The dad must be really upset to hear his son's last words. The lady who called could have went outside to see what was happening or let the boy come inside if he was screaming for help.

Kaity Chrisman, a sophomore at Westside High School, packed her clothes and a blanket Tuesday night, and climbed through a house window, her family said. "My heart is broken," Chrisman's mother, Dori Kingery, said.
