(CNN) -- The FBI said Monday night that a Tennessee mother and her 14-year-old daughter are dead, though the man they believe abducted them -- along with two other daughters -- remains at large. Authorities previously reported that they had found two bodies Friday at a Guntown, Mississippi, residence tied to the kidnapping suspect, Adam Mayes.

Homicide detectives have arrested and preliminarily charged a 14-year-old girl with murder in connection with the stabbing death of her 4-year-old cousin.

Surveillance video shows two children starting a fire outside an Omaha school last week. Authorities said the children intentionally started the fire at a Dumpster next to Walnut Hill Elementary near 45th and Charles streets last Wednesday about 8:30 p.m. In the video, one of the children runs from the fire while the other stays to add more fuel.

A 39-year-old York woman has been fined $250 after pleading no contest in a prescription drug case. Jeannie Linder had been charged with intentional violation of a narcotic drug law. That's a felony that carries a maximum prison sentence offive years. On Friday Linder pleaded no contest to attempted acquisition of a controlled substance by fraud.

Bail is now at $250,000 for a Ralston teacher accused of sexually assaulting children. A judge increased the bail after two more children came forward saying Nicholas Richter touched them inappropriately while they sat on his lap. The 58-year-old now faces five felony counts of sexual assault of a child.

Omaha police said an alert bystander helped them track down a suspected armed robber on Saturday, but it turned into a five-hour standoff.Officers said a man held up the Kwik Shop near 72nd Street and Crown Point Avenue around 3:15 a.m.

FAIRBURY, Neb. - A southeast Nebraska woman has been given life plus 50 years in prison for beating her husband to death. Susan DeJong, 55, was sentenced on Thursday to life in prison for the first-degree murder of her husband. DeJong was given 50 years for using a deadly weapon to commit a felony.

Drew Peterson made an appearance in an Illinois courtroom Friday for the first time in almost two years. Friday's hearing was the first step toward a trial in the case that has taken since Peterson's attorneys appealed the admissibility of hearsay statements made by his dead ex-wife. Peterson's attorneys eventually lost that appeal.

An Iowa mother is accused of forcing her son's head under a bathtub faucet, drowning the 15-month old. Onawa police said they believe Ashley Cameron, 25, planned the whole thing.

BURLINGTON - Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a man accused of stabbing his wife inside a Burlington home on Thursday.

Police say an Omaha man who came to the aid of a student near Monroe Middle School was shot Thursday morning. Thirty-year-old Dallas Waters told police while driving at 51st and Bedford just before 11:30 a.m. he noticed two teenaged boys pushing a school-aged girl on the sidewalk.

FRANKLIN, Neb. - Three members of a south-central Nebraska family are in jail in connection with the death of a 2-year-old boy. Franklin County authorities said family members brought Joseph Rinehart to a hospital on Monday evening. He was unresponsive when he arrived at the hospital and later pronounced dead.

Investigators shed more light Wednesday into the case against the former city administrator for Gretna, Colleen Lawry. She goes before a judge Thursday morning in Sarpy County court for bond review. Lawry has been charged with theft between $500 - $1,500. Investigators allege she used funds that were set aside for the Gretna Senior Center.

A crash just after noon Saturday killed a woman riding in the same vehicle with the mother of a boy who had been hit by a vehicle in separate accident. Omaha police say the child's babysitter, Delaine Harris, was partially-ejected from the Ford Explorer when when it rolled from the impact of the crash at 50th and Decatur.

Authorities are investigating a report of shots fired at a home near 39th and Fowler streets. Omaha police said ShotSpotter pinpointed the location of the shooting. A resident of the home, Savera Cottrell, told officers her 22-year-old son, Dontanion Cottrell, was mowing the lawn when six teens got out of an SUV and approached him.

A Bonney Lake mother who prosecutors say repeatedly bleached her child's eyes, causing permanent vision damage, was charged Monday with first-degree child assault. Jennifer Mothershead, 29, pleaded not guilty and her bail was set at $150,000. In May 2011, Mothershead's 15-month-old daughter was airlifted from Tacoma to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center after suffering a blow to the head.

First off why would any person do something like that to her own child. What was her reasoning behind bleaching its eyes. Hopefully the kid is all right after that event.

Who would do so much harm to a 15 month old baby, and not feel any pain?

A man from Huntley, Illinois has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl. The man, Jimmy J. Dill, 40, was arrested Tuesday. The charges stem from two alleged incidents: his alleged touching of a breast of the 16-year-old girl in October 2011, which happened at his home; and a second incident a month later, in which he exposed his genitals to the teen, which also happened at his home.

Omaha police officers called to a hospital arrested two people on suspicion of felony child abuse. According to an Omaha detective, the father of a 2-year-old brought the boy to the emergency room at the Nebraska Medical Center on Wednesday night.
