    A video showing a Hawthorne police officer fatally shooting a dog is drawing outrage on the Internet, and its owner claims he was targeted because of pending claims against the department. The shooting Sunday occurred after a standoff between police and armed robbery suspects near the intersection of 137th Street and Jefferson Avenue.

    I watched this video its so sad how they don't just call animal control to sedate the dog but instead they just shoot it

    It's much more than just a game of good cop/bad cop. Some police officers are very serious about helping save animals while they're on duty (and off duty, too, of course). Police Officer Jon Boyer in Baltimore got more than his 15 minutes of fame when a photo of him cuddling a kitten he saved went viral.
