The Chinese brand Gionee has announced the roll out of the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Elife E3 smartphone. Unlike most Android updates, the Elife E3's update is not available over-the air and the consumers would need to either visit the vendor's service centre or manually upgrade their phone by downloading the files available on the company's website.

"The Elife S5.1 is very slim and is also one of the lightest Android smartphones featuring metal and glass construction" Mobile device maker Gionee is yet to announce the launch of its slim Android smartphone the Gionee Elife S5.1. However, the device has already started selling through eBay India for an asking price of Rs 17,549.

Gionee is making big waves in the crowded smartphone market in India with its feature-packed and well-priced devices. Its latest smartphone, the Elife S5.5 boasts of being the slimmest Android smartphone available in the market currently, all thanks to its 5.5mm slim body. Even with this sleek construction, the device is equipped with top-of-the-line hardware.

It appears that Gionee is all set to launch the Elife S5.1 and Marathon M3 smartphones in India. The company has listed both the phones on its Indian website without any word on their prices and availability.

The Elife S5.1 is priced at Rs 18,999 and will go on sale in the first week of December in black, white, blue and pink variants.
