I haven't checked out Khan Academy since it was first introduced, until I read about it again in one of the modules. It has come so far and has so many more options now! I'm going to reintroduce it into my classroom next week!
If we can get teachers to think of rubric as a way to assess if they learned it, instead of a check list of what they were taught we might get more buy in. The problem is that teaching is a very personal profession and if a student doesn't know/learn the concept it's personal. It's like I didn't do my job, and it's extremely frustrating. Often kids learn in different ways and rubrics can help teachers or assessors see what is or is not working.
