Did you know that something that was built 8500 years ago still stands today? Well that is the Sphinx and it has the head of an ancient God and the body of a lion. In fact, they found 7000 to 10000 years of marks of water erosions. West and Schoch, Sacred sites.com. And, 7000 years is how long the signs of water weathering. Robert Schoch Sacred sites.com
The most interesting about the Sphinx is that the size of it is just remarkable. Also it is a mystery of how the Sphinx was built. The most unrealistic thing about the Sphinx is the question of when it was built. There are many theories but I, personally, do not think that most of them are correct. Friedrich Nietzsche exclaimed, " There are various eyes. Even the Sphinx has eyes and as a result there are various truths, and as a result there is no truth." brainyquote.com. These are the thoughts and wonders that I have, and other people who are interested in the Sphinx have.
One thing that is amazing about the Sphinx is that the size is unlike any other. The Sphinx is told to be a single ridge of stone 240 feet long and 66 feet high. The head, which has a markedly different, texture from the body, and shows far less severe far less severe erosion then the body. To form the body enormous blocks of stone were taken and placed on the Sphinx. 1 Zahi Hawass said, "When we find something new at Giza we announce it to the world"

Something that is extremely difficult to figure out about the sphinx is its age. Egyptologists still maintain the belief. The Pharaoh Chephren constructed the Sphinx in the 4th Dynasty. Even though others think that the Sphinx is far older than the 4th dynasty. This is another mystery of the sphinx.
Another amazing thing about the Sphinx is why it was built. To start off the Sphinx was an imaginary creature in myths. The term Sphinx means imaginary creature or "evil monster. It was made to honor a king or queen. The sphinx was built next to the pyramid of Giza. Did you know that the Sphinx is older than Acropolis, the great museum? The Sphinx also is older than the recipe of apple pie.
Additional evidence for the great age of the Sphinx may perhaps be indicated by the astronomical significance of its shape, being that of a lion. Roughly every two thousand years (2160 to be exact), and because of the precession of the equinoxes, the sun on the vernal equinox rises against the stellar background of a different constellation. For the past two thousand years that constellation has been Pisces the Fish, symbol of the Christian age. Prior to the age of Pisces it was the age of Aries the Ram, and before that it was the age of Taurus the Bull. It is interesting to note that during the first and second millennia BC, approximately the Age of Aries, ram-oriented iconography was common in Dynastic Egypt, while during the Age of Taurus the Bull-cult arose in Minoan Crete. Perhaps the builders of the Sphinx likewise used astrological symbolism in designing their monumental sculpture. The geological findings discussed above indicate that the Sphinx seems to have been sculpted sometime before 10,000 BC, and this period coincides with the Age of Leo the Lion, which lasted from 10,970 to 8810 BC.
The Sphinx is the greatest wonder of the world for many reasons. First it was built many, many years ago. Second The Sphinx was built for a specific person. It was built by a specific person.

5 Schwaller de Lubicz said, and recent geologists (such as Robert Schoch, Professor of Geology at Boston University) have confirmed, " The extreme erosion on the body of the Sphinx could not be the result of wind and sand, as has been universally assumed, but rather was the result of water
