The release of the Blackberry Storm is Research in Motion's entry into the touchscreen phone market. It is also considered by many to be Verizon's answer to the insanely popular iPhone. The Storm comes extremely close to meeting the iPhone feature-wise but some nagging issues may prevent it from overtaking it completely.

Opera's mobile browsers (including Opera Mobile and Opera Mini) are now more popular than iPhone's Safari browser.

"Opera Retakes Leadership from iPhone in Mobile Browser Market" reads the press release that arrived in my email this week. "Opera is the world's number one mobile browser, overtaking iPhone in May according to data from StatCounter Global Stats" it continues, which certainly peaked my interest. Not least because, according to another set of figures, the Net Applications' Market Share report, the iPhone commands more than 60 percent of the mobile browsing share.

This could get interesting. According to analyst Charlie Wolf, Apple could drop the price of the 8GB iPhone 3G to $99.
