Ok, so everyone’s playing with the new iPhone 2.0 software, and taking photos, and embedding the location information into the EXIF. Well early adopters in San Francisco are anyway, and here’s an interesting thing about San Francisco is that it’s at the same latitude as a bit of the Yellow Sea, just off the coast of China. Example: San Francisco is 37.7 latitude, -122.4 longitude which puts it firmly in the Western Hemisphere. The same latitude but 122.4 longitude you end up just off the coast of China. The Spec for GPS location in EXIF says that you’re not supposed to have any sign information on the latitude or longitude, so it’ll always be positive (i.e. the North Eastern Hemispheres) in the "GPS Latitude" and "GPS Longitude" fields (although some apps do add that information) The North/South East/West bit is supposed to be in the "GPS Latitude Ref" and "GPS Longitude Ref" fields. But it seems at first glance, that the iPhone 2.0 software misses these fields out when writing EXIF data to the photo, so while everything else using Core-Location on the iPhone is super happy. Photos appear to be missing which Hemisphere they’re taken in. And those photos taken in San Francisco, well, they think they’re in China … for the moment. Hey guys this is my first review here I will try to follow The Critic’s mode of review as far as possible. So here goes. For my first review i have chosen a theme that looks like something i would like to own very much, an Apple iPhone. Seriously, this theme does look like the classy iPhone as you can see from the screenshot. This is a single (1) column theme, black (obviously), fixed width and widget ready. It is made by Mauricio from Themey and he has also included an options page in the admin section for the theme. First off the author calls it the iPhone Wordpress theme on his site, but the Wordpress Theme Viewer calls it Hello 1.0. To avoid confusion, i decided to use both names in the post. This theme is is based on the K2 structure. The first thing that you notice is that it pretty much looks like the iPhone. Its black, sleek with rounded corners and gorgeous colors ( namely the header image ) If you can get some kind of rotating header image script and incorporate it with this theme, it would look really great The iPhone theme has a single column design with sidebar information presented below the posts. The icons used are FamFamFam Silk Icons. They look elegant, in keeping with the theme.

No, Apple hasn’t changed their tune and decided to push the feature to the top of their priority list. Rather, a third-party company has submitted an app that promises to finally deliver Copy & Paste functionality to iPhone users worldwide, and we’ve got dibs on a first look. The program, a rich-text editing tool, lets iPhone owners select text by highlighting with a double-tap and drag motion. Details about AT&T’s plans to offer free Wi-Fi for iPhone users first appeared in May, but shortly after posting details of the plan, AT&T pulled them again. AT&T is the sole provider of data and voice plans for iPhone users in the United States.

According to the details of the page that appeared briefly on AT&T’s Web site, AT&T says it has more than 17,000 Wi-Fi hotspots nationwide. The company counts 12 airports, 31 hotels, 23 universities, 18 convention centers, five sports centers, 8,000 or more restaurants, 700 or more bookstores and more than 50 supermarkets. 先日発売されたiPod touchには、iPhone同様、ブラウザにSafari 3が採用された。そのため、先頃アップルが公開したドキュメントを参考にして、iPod touch向けにモバイルコンテンツを配信することが可能だ。本稿ではiPhoneサイト構築にあたり、知っておきたい5つのTipsを紹介する。

1. タブブラウジング 　iPhone、iPod touchでは厳密には「タブ」ではないが、複数のWebサイトを同時に開いてのブラウジングが可能だ。様々なページを見比べたり参照しながらブラウジングすることがストレスなく行える。利用者にとって便利といえるが、特定のページに居座るという可能性は低くなる。モバイルコンテンツには元々そういった部分はあったが、マルチタスクはさらにそれを加速させるだろう。

2. 柔軟なサイトデザインの実現 　他のブラウザではサポートしきれていないCSS 2.1および一部のCSS3がSafariでは利用できるのも、マークアップエンジニアの心を揺さぶる部分だ。 　CSSといえばWebサイトのレイアウトを組むときや装飾に役立つというイメージがあるが、iPhone/iPod touchではそれ以上の役割を果たしている。一部の携帯電話で利用可能なOperaにも実装されているが、SafariではCSS3のメディアクエリ（Media Queries）が利用できる。 　メディアクエリを利用すれば、デバイス、スクリーンサイズ、色に応じて異なるスタイルをページに継承させることが可能だ。パソコンで閲覧できるページをそのまま見られるのが強みではあるが、可能な限りストレスのない体験を提供したいところだ。その際、わざわざ専用ページを設けるのではなく、メディアクエリを利用してオールインワンソリューションを提供することができる。（注釈2） 注釈2 <link media="only screen and (max-device-width: 480px)" href="iphone.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" /> 　メディアクエリはCSSファイル内に書き込むことが可能だが、上記のようにHTMLのlinkタグ内に記述することもできる。iPhone/iPod touchは横に傾けた際の幅が480pxなので、スクリーンサイズが最大480px（max-device-width: 480px）を想定したCSSファイルを用意しておくと良いだろう。
