ソフトバンクによると例えば、シャープ製の「ソフトバンク７０５ＳＨ」を２年間の分割払いで販売した場合、月々の支払いは1880円だが、同額の1880円をソフトバンクが月々割り引きするのでユーザーの負担は実質ゼロになるという。このうち月々の分割払い額は販売店が店頭価格をいくらにするかによって決まってくるが、割り引きする金額はソフトバンクが自社の裁量で決められる。　極端に仮定すれば、ある機種を大量に売りたいときは割引額を高くすればいいし、人気機種なら逆に割引額を低めに抑えるといった加減もできる。インセンティブと割引額の２つの調整弁で端末販売の収益管理がより容易になることが考えられるのだ。　価格へのコントロールを強めるという構図はお金の流れからもみてとれる。　　これまでの端末販売方式は、携帯電話会社と販売店の間、販売店と端末購入者の間でそれぞれお金が流れたが、携帯電話会社と端末購入者との間に直接のやり取りはなかった。しかし、新スーパーボーナスは端末の頭金がゼロなので、販売店と購入者のお金のやり取りがなくなる。代わって、ソフトバンクが端末の販売代金を販売店に立替払いし、その肩代わり分を端末購入者から分割払いで受け取る。つまり、すべてのお金がソフトバンクを通じて流れるようになるのだ。

iPhoneの3G対応がメディアで話題になっているが、「全米で600万台のベストセラー」だって？　パラダイス鎖国では、この程度でベストセラーなのかもしれないが、ノキア1100は2億台、モトローラのRAZRでも5000万台売れてるんだよ。上の図のように、スマートフォンのシェアでもBlackberryの半分にもならない。事実は逆で、iPhoneは携帯端末としては売れ行き不振だから、AT&Tに補助金をもらって見かけ上の価格を200ドル下げただけのことだ。その代わり、通信料金は2年で240ドル増える。2年以上使ったら、事実上の値上げだ。日本ではソフトバンクが売るようだが、こっちはそういう詐欺的な価格表示はやめたから、4万円ぐらいだろう。
