iPhone version 4.0 is official! It's got all the goodies, multi-tasking, background GPS, background audio streaming (Pandora), background VOIP calls and even iBooks (thanks iPad). Apple has announced the upgrade but won't make it available to all the iPhone 3GS/iPod Touch 3rd Gen users out there until sometime this summer. iPad will get the update in the Fall. Original iPhone and iPhone 3G users along with iPod Touch 1st/2nd Gen will get some features but not the multitasking (booooo). That's too bad for owners of older hardware but Apple has to cut them loose at some point to move forward.

Apps like Pandora Radio and AOL Radio have brought the wonders of commercial internet radio to every iPod Touch and iPhone. Given their success, it was only a matter of time before the established name of satellite radio made its debut on our favorite gadget.

The iPhone's can't compare to the iPod when it comes to storing all your music, but imeem aims to change that with its new streaming music app aims that turns the smartphone into a quasi-iPod by letting paid users store 80 GB of music on its servers.

Subscription music service Rhapsody (a division of Real Networks) has announced plans to port its service to Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch. The company's application (demonstrated on the video below) is currently awaiting approval from Apple.

I really hate to admit this, and it's the fault of one of my employees, Joe Wright, a true iPhone lover. Two weeks ago, I went back to the iPhone. Yes, I got a brand spankin' new iPhone 3Gs with 16 GB of storage. I thought about getting the 32GB but figured it would just cause me to buy more music and install more applications.
