They can then post assignments on there for students to access in case a student misses class. Teachers can have a calendar on the class page which can help students keep up with when their assignments are due. Teachers can also send notifications to parents and students through email. Teachers can also talk to other teachers to discuss different topics. The standard for this website is Standard 6.6 which deals with using technology to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.

The interactive whiteboard is similar to a smartboard except it just attaches to the teachers exisiting whiteboard magnetically. Students or teachers can use the pens to write on the board and control the computer screen by using the whiteboard. Mimio also makes a reading tutorial called MimioSprout. This helps children from kindergarten to second grade with reading. This website meets standard 6.1 because it allows students to use interactive technology in the classroom. It also allows students to further their education while playing games and doing activities on Mimio Sprout. The white board would allow teachers to use technology in a positive way to have students interact during a lesson instead of just listening to the teacher. With the interactive white board, students can get up and interact with the teacher and their peers.
