I want to be famous to shuffling men who smile while crossing streets, sticky children in grocery lines, famous as the one who smiled back.

The loud voice is famous to silence, which knew it would inherit the earth before anybody said so.

The cat sleeping on the fence is famous to the birds

This relates to publicity and privacy because the line says, the boot is more famous than the earth, more famous than the dress shoe which is only famous to floors. This means that the boot does not belong indoors and the dress shoe does not belong outdoors, which how like some people dont belong on your profile

The idea you carry close to your bosom is famous to your bosom.
-
This relates to the private-public discussion because what you keep close to your heart, will always be close to you. Such as an idea you keep in your mind will stay in you mind
-
This is related to the private and public discussion because you can have an idea in our heart, and choose to keep it private and to yourself, or to share it with others and make it public.

The boot is famous to the earth, more famous than the dress shoe, which is famous only to floors.

This relates to the private - public discussion because the boot has been all over the different terrain of earth (public), and the dress shoe has only been on floors of cement and in buildings (private).

The bent photograph is famous to the one who carries it and not at all famous to the one who is pictured. This means that some things aren't as important in the moment it happened as it is later to someone who came across it. Some things are famous to some people and some aren't. This kind of famous means something has value and is important.

not because it did anything spectacular, but because it never forgot what it could do. I think this line connects the examples that the author gives about fame to them self. This is important to me because I can see how this poem relates to me. I hope that I wonʻt forget my responsibilities, and can help contribute to spectacular things.

This is a different kind of "famous" for a river than say the Amazon or the Mississippi - everyone knows about those. Any river could be famous to the fish that live there.

This relates because things in life can be famous or big for a split second or can be remembered for life.
-
This relates to the word famous being really public. And a fish able to be very private. And having the word famous describe the river, shows that the fish thinks it is famous.
-
It relates because your cheek is like the home of your tear. Public and private can be used at any certain time. Like how you cry at certain times.
-
This line relates to the discussion and to life because social media is so popular now. There are many people that are called "Instafamous" on the social media, Instagram. I feel like this relates because their pictures are public for everyone to see and they barley have any privacy. Since they are famous so much people want to see them but to them they feel like they are just a regular normal person that posts pictures.

The tear is famous, briefly, to the cheek. Our cheeks are the ones that catch all our tears when others cant. Basically tears touch your cheeks first.

To me this line really stands out because of the meaning behind it. It means that the person who holds a picture treasures it more than the person who is in it.

private eye and public self If a loud voice is digital media and the silence is privacy. Then we all knew that eventually digital media would lessen our privacy and still we agreed to allow it anyway. With any new thing that is introduced there will always be the chance that the other old thing will diminish.
-
This line makes me think about how we think god is the leader and how we look up to him to get help
-
This basically means that the boot is familiar to the earth or the places you walk around because you wear it on a daily basis. As to where, the dress shoe is only familiar to floors because it is usually worn to nice events.

"Poetry Out Loud has taught me how vulnerable people are to words, and that has made me much more aware and careful of how I use words. I'm so thankful I have the opportunity to be a part of this fantastic organization, and I hope more and more high school students will start to realize the importance and beauty of poetry."

This small quote to me indicates that small photos and memories are precious and "famous" to the one who holds it

"The bent photograph is famous to the one who carries it and not at all famous to the one who is pictured. " The person who has the photo thinks it is amazing and wants to keep it private. Unlike the person who who is pictured in it and does not care so it is public.
