This site has great resources for teaching history, civics, or government. There are many primary documents for students to see and lots of ideas for teachers. There are state standards and lesson ideas. Lessons are provided for different eras and there is a link to DocsTeach where teachers can create their own documents or search for something they can use. I think this site would be very helpful.

The Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has this fun site for kids. The topics include disease, nutrition, physical activity, your body, and more. There are lots of colorful graphics and links to more information. Students can visit the game room, take the BAM challenge, or read about different stories like a newsletter. I think students would enjoy this website.

Excellent source for American historical research. Original documents available by subject or by era. Could possibly be used for the rendevous project.

The Kids in the House Web site is provided by the Office of the Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives to provide educational information about the legislative branch fo the U.S. government. This site provides activities, resources and lesson plans for students K-12. The grade school section has a segment like the School House Rocks "I'm Just a Bill"

This site integrates global issues & cultural awareness through a variety of learning activities. The site has and educator section that is incredible, it has lesson plans divided by grade level, region and subject area. I really enjoyed the languages section. The Peace Corp Challenge Game was a lot of fun.

Great primary source for all types of learning about money. This website has interactive games and activities that are really fun. It also has a great link for educators.

This site tells students all about the money we use every day.  There is also a teacher's section which provides lesson plan ideas.

I had to send this straight to 5th grade teachers in our district.  What a fun and valuable way to teach the difference between primary and secondary sources.  This is a clear and concise teaching of a topic that is very difficult for some students to comprehend.

The National Gallery of Art (NGA) website provide a unique resource page to connect art and other areas of curriculum. The resources finder allows you to search by curriculum, topic, or artist. These searches provide you with student activities, teacher lesson plans, biographies, and the artwork to accompany them. The NGA has a loan program available.

This is a website created by the U.S. Energy Information Administration to educate kids on anything and everything having to do with energy and electricity. It would be a great resource for the sixth grade energy unit. It has a teacher section with activities for classrooms as well.
