This post describes an Elluminate interactive session taking place on Oct 4th at 5pm. A panel of internationally recognized, innovative educators will be discussing ways to push the education reform movement forward. Presenters include Will Richardson, Chris Lehmann, Alfie Kohn, Sir Ken Robinson, and Gary Stager.

A student in my media lit class shared this. Is this social networking gone too far?

As we gear up for the Fall 2010 semester, I wanted to revisit the idea of teaching with Twitter.

Twitter is a good tool but unless you are on nearly constantly, you miss a great deal.

Something fun to test our newly acquired social media savvy.

It should raise questions when an enormous, complicated realm of life takes on the characteristics of a stock drama. In the current school-reform story, there is a reliable villain, in the form of the teachers' unions, and a familiar set of heroes, including Geoffrey Canada, of Harlem Children's Zone; Wendy Kopp, of Teach for America, the Knowledge Is Power Program; and Michele Rhee, the superintendent of schools in Washington, D.C. And there is a clear answer to the problem-charter schools.
