This will give you a chance to search trending topics by #hashtag on Twitter without having to log in to an actual Twitter account. This could be beneficial in a classroom to remove some of the personal connection while still providing the students with live media. Current events are simply summarized and given personal perspective on Twitter, without the students seeing a random comment about what one of my friends is having for lunch.
Not a new tool - but a refresher of the resources and content on the website. Provides educators/students resources including lesson plans and examples of student work. Many of the examples are for reading/language arts, but can easily be adopted for other subject areas (all grade levels).
ReadWriteThink offers interactive tools - these could be a great option for when students need to create their own games / review activities. 59 Tools (14 currently can be saved/shared - currently trying to make more of them saveable). ReadWriteThink is working on an app for iOS (currently heavily Flash driven)
Throw away the worksheet, open your mind to exploring creativity in the classroom to meet the standards and engage your students with direct involvement . Worksheets don't grow dendrites, not that students even realize they are growing them to begin with! They also don't engage the students to where they want to be part of the learning environment.
