Often, I critique my teachers' presentations and wonder how I would do them myself! :)

It would be great if you provide the design principle of the chapter and criticize features of the website based on them. 

That's a wonderful idea! More than anything, it seems our kids need consistency. Giving them multiple sites to keep track of can overwhelm them.

I know that feeling! I definitely feel like this class is preparing me specifically to be a teacher rather than just on how to use technology.

Honestly, I do not like taking notes from teachers' ppt. You can provide 'printed' ppt with lines so students can add important points per slide but not take notes for the whole content of a slide.

Wiki is an web application that everyone can edit the content.  So, When you create a wiki page, your group or collaborators should be able to contribute to the content creation.  That's why this wiki-project was done as group activity.   In order to increase your understanding, you can create a wiki page (for your group works). And invite your group members to your wiki page. Then create a project/group work using wiki. After everyone contributes the group work, you can check the history log to see each member's contribution.

You can keep a list of the books you use for storytime and open it up for parents so they can know what their children are reading and at what levels they are progressing so parents can collaborate with you. :)

I think this is useful. However, sometimes people use or present same wrong information in the website. so.. it is important to check the author (who is the most influential person in that area? and check the author's work)

Some kids.  But we should remember that there will be students who do not have parents (both or one) with little knowledge with tech and money... So, in that case, you may guide them to do their homework (use public library ..etc)

The first paragraph should state:  how you might use PowerPoint to support student learning at each knowledge dimension in a particular lesson. Be explicit in your example!  What are 'knowledge dimensions?' (hint: Bloom's taxonomy) Then, think a specific lesson (teaching science lesson?) After that, state how you would use powerpoint to teach each knowledge dimension for the lesson. 

If you go to library, ask them about adaptive technology. They will show you what types of adaptive technology FSU library has.

I didn't even think about using the tutorials, but that is actually really smart... I'm so accustomed to figuring it out on my own that I forget that there are manuals and instructions for everything. XD

Yeah.. Didn't I mention about using tutorials? My bad! Using tutorials is a very smart idea. I always look for Tutorials when I need to learn something new. 

This is true. But, the concept of 'hands on activity' can be changed. For example, if you teach 'Hail', what would you do? There are many situations where you cannot use 'hands on' or real things when you teach some concepts. Also, your kids will have digital textbooks. 

I think "serious passions" is really important for teachers...

That is so true. Since we have all good searching skills, but young students do not have. It is important to teach effective and efficient searching strategies when students are young so that they can create good habits 

Elementary school? Are you planning to teach 1st grade students? Even 1st grade students, they can do 'sorting' of animal specifications. Or you can present information using Inspiration not for students. :-)

You can use wiki for your group works. You have some classes that require group works. However, it is difficult to check each member's progress and contribution. But, if you create a wiki page, invite your members, and work on wiki, you will see the history log that shows each member's contribution (who edit, remove, add, etc) and working progress. 

I feel the same way. But if you use a website that scans the students work before they can submit it, it's really helpful!

Inspiration is a tool to help students' logical thinking or thinking itself throughout visualizing one's mental model about concepts. However, powerpoint is a tool to guide your presentation of information.   

You can use this for your next assignment 'Creating your web-site for your classroom' :-)

I was thinking the similar idea like learning new vocabularies. 

I highly recommend you to create 'Mind Map', 'Brainstorming map', and 'concept map', flow chart. These maps have different purposes and should be used for 'right moment'

I also learned how to use hyperlink and banners. I feel as if we will use this in our future classrooms.

They provide both, desktop and online version as far as I know. And it is very different from Powerpoint. I recommend you to use the tool and create a presentation. You will find what are good things/bad things of Prezi and how you can use it effectively.

Inspiration is totally different from Photoshop. The main purpose of Inspiration is to promote your logical thinking through visualizing your mental models.  Or when you want to find causal-effect relationships in a complex problem, drawing visual maps should be useful for students and teachers too!

I felt the same way, and even though I'm not a Google guru, the "shortcuts" or "tricks" that were taught were useless for improving my research abilities :P

I know it is not easy to do it by yourself.  But, you can do it certainly.  1. Create 'wiki-page'  2. Develop a web evaluation form.  3. Choose a website and evaluate the site based on the evaluation form that you developed. 

When you want students to create a story, novel, or informational texts, pictures may be helpful. And students or you can use the nifty feature, i guess.

I think your critique is very good. It would be great if you criticize each component/feature of the site based on the design principle in chapter 6.  It makes your voice/opinion stronger. 

Yes, there are some people who believe the value of open source/information. :-)  And... how about the open course? Harvard university provides open courses (surely free). Do you think people will learn better or less if open courses are available? Why or why not?  https://www.edx.org/

You can use the newsletter for presenting students' works (poetry, novels, or their activities at school.. etc) I would love to see my kid's work via teachers' newsletter.
