The Germans then took control of proceedings, but it took until the 60th minute and a Micah Richards handball to allow Piotr Trochowski the opportunity to put Hamburg ahead from the spot. Trochowski capped a fine performance sending in a low cross from the left that Jose Paolo Guerrro, unmarked, steered into the roof of the net for the Germans' third.
