Sundaram String ༄ Marlia project is the global music project of Cyprus-born Marlia Coeur; an ever-changing band of international musicians coming together with her guidance and compositions inspired by oral-transmitted songs from East Mediterranean tribes and beyond. ༄ The "Acropolis Secrets" concert happened in Bali in April 2022 before Marlia embarked on her European summer tour 2022. ༄ It was a tribute to songs from Greece, Cyprus and Bulgaria. Designed especially for Zest Ubud, with the most eclectic musicians, singers and drummers Bali offered at the time; special guests sharing a live-music stage together around the Sacred Fire. ༄ The audience experienced the potency of a polyphonic vocal ensemble, the power of the frame drums, innovative jazzy compositions with a string ensemble orchestra, the mystical sounds of Oud and Saz, ancient Acropolis Temple oracles transcribed into makams, powerful East Mediterranean odd rhythms which reinforce an ecstatic state and lead to remembering. ༄ "The sound that is God, of which all things are made." ༄ ༄ The Greek philosopher Heraclitus said "everything is in motion". You will be guided step by step through YOUR journey of finding your voice and becoming an independent artist. In the first 3 episodes of this Module, you will learn how to control vocal dynamics in combination to your singing, how to continue experimenting with the timbre and texture of your voice. I'm explaining how everything is oscillating in our Universe and how imitating natural sounds can help you grow vocally. I'm giving you techniques for tone improvement and tips on how to stay on pitch. The use of your head voice and the advantages it can bring to your singing skills. Episode 4 of this Module is dedicated to various affordable pieces of equipment and gear that you can purchase to setup your home/traveling music studio. On 23rd December 2018, a group of friends & strangers, students & teachers, Europeans & Indians, got together for an experimental, sacred, high-energy JAMily concert at a vegan restaurant in Varanasi, India. This is an excerpt of our language of music! At minute 7, on a totally different context, I was inspired to lay down some vocals with lyrics from the Cypriot traditional song "Ela korou na doume ta mavra sou ta mathkia". The video includes our journey from the guesthouse to the venue with our instruments and our smiles, through holy Ganga river! Besides our Indian Classical Music studies with our masters during our stay in Varanasi that month, we were inspired to put forward a methodological tool, called THE ELEMENT KEY SYSTEM, which is essentially a sign language for musicians to use in order to conduct one another while improvising with music; and expanded to applications to life itself!
