I'm learning about Medicine right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about it what is Medicine all about? I was searching this question Online, and there is this quote that is very interesting. The quote is "But my years in the trenches of real medicine have altered that definition greatly. I do spend time doing the things I learned in medical school like diagnosing disease and writing prescriptions, but that turns out to be only a part of the job, often a very small part. Much of the time I find myself acting as sounding board. Recently I saw one my regular patients, a woman whose main medical issue is hypertension. But for most of our visit she spoke, often tearfully, of the strain of raising grandchildren since her daughter died of HIV. We never really got to her hypertension, and I certainly didn't have any easy answers for her difficult life situation, but this seemed to be the only time and place that she could devote to her own issues".I feel that Medicine is very important to cure others.

I'm learning about Nursing Programs right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is what does a nursing program offer and is it good? According to Murray-Schmidt, the students are enrolled in an accelerated nursing program, meaning that students who successfully complete four consecutive semesters of study will receive a two-year degree in 18 months. The course work is considered very vigorous and demands unwavering dedication and commitment from the students; clinical courses that are covered over six and 10 weeks during the regular school year are consolidated into four weeks during the summer months. "This group of students entered into the program in January of this year and will graduate with associate's degrees in May 2010. They will be eligible to take the registered nurse licensing exam at that time. Western currently holds a 91 percent examination pass rate. This ranking places them among those that are third from the top of 16 in the Wisconsin Technical College System and fifth from the top in the state of Wisconsin, inclusive of all two- and four-year nursing programs. This figure is based on April, May, and June exam candidates, and it is predicted to rise higher in the next quarter". This quote I chose is basically saying that a nursing programs is good in many ways. A nursing program helps you a start the career that you want. Starting from what you know to what you don't know.
