Making the News 2 (MTN2) is a website designed to introduce students to the world of online media publishing and broadcasting for the 21st century. Teachers may register, doing so will create a homepage on MTN for their school. The teacher may then create student accounts. Students can then login and create articles and programmes which will be submitted to the teacher and if approved published on the school homepage. Well rated articles will be added to the National MTN2 site. Articles may be text and images or they may be video, audio or a sequence of images.

You might find something of interest to you here! When I first set out to create this site, I wanted it, above anything else, to be something practical. I wanted it to be something real teachers could use. I want to offer support to new teachers who were hired the day before school started, and were talked into taking two extra preps, and have gang problems inside their classrooms. And I want it to be a place where you could find like-minded colleagues who are dedicated to improving our society through education, as hard as the reality of that may be for those of us in the classroom.

For teachers of mathematics, we: * Offer you FREE enrichment material (Problems, Articles and Games) at all Key Stages that really can help to inspire and engage learners and embed RICH tasks into everyday practice. * Help to promote RICH thinking in classrooms by offering on-line and face-to-face support at Primary and Secondary level. * Deliver professional development courses and workshops in rich mathematics. * Help teachers to think strategically about 'next steps' and progression in problem solving.

Food for social media thought! Teachers have a higher social responsibility. Teachers need to be very circumspect about their privacy on the web.
