really good stat tracker.  shows what leads to many of the problems of the world.

Tells of how we are seriously lacking doctors and what that is doing to countries in Asia and other places.

Planner solution. All the money in the world won't save the world. What they need is personal attention, not personal checks.

What seems to be the great thing about this organization, is that they want help in all areas. It isn't just money they want, they are offering volunteer opportunities, jobs, etc. They have goals for diseases and a way to achieve these goals.

Not what I wanted to tag, but does show an example of kiva.

There is not miracle drug. Drug resistence limits the amount of drug that can be distributed and what is cost effective.

The Potential of the OLPC project

WHO Statistics for 2007. This will show us some of the major issues worldwide with health, and you can  look and see what parts of the world have the most problems.

This is probably one of the most famous health help organizations world wide. Personally I have been interested in Doctors without Borders for several years. This organization illustrates what has been done so far to help with the glabal healthcare.

Article that was written in response to Jeffrey Sachs "The End of Poverty". This article, like that of Easterly's, states that what is needed is a new model of poverty solution, His suggestion is that government's role should not be of manager or director of change, but rather just a catalyst for change. Also the author believes there needs to be a focus on farming, and incentives, loans, and tax breaks to help build rural areas.

This organization works to fight against poverty by providing health care and development to those communities and families that can't afford it. Interestingly, on its mission statement page, one of its operating principles listed is Accountability, which is what Easterly said was one of the things that seperated planners and searchers.

Interesting video that looks at NGO's and how they have in treated the African people that they support with their own programs that they think will benefit the people and not what the people themselves believe that they need. Also it says that one NGO in Ghana asked a girl to cry for a video they were making, in order to help raise more money, but that money did not even go to that girl/her people.

I really agree with the website's definition of child labor.  This is what I personally believe child labor is!  There are some many additives today that make the simple definition so needlessly complicated!
