Annapurna circuit - 0 views

  •
Nepal is a unique country as it has 8 tallest mountains in the world. It is also famous for its unmatched beauty and cultural heritage. Annapurna has become a matter of trekking for all who enjoy hiking . Trekkers keep their cameras ready to capture the virgin beauty of the mountain peaks while climbing and visiting this region .They get not only new experience but also get familiar with countless varieties of Himalayan flora and fauna. There are a number of ways for approaching this region. The first and easy route is from Pokhara but it can be started from Kathmandu as well. However no tourist buses are available directly to this point (Besishar) either from Kathmandu or Pokhara. Normally you can spend one night in Pokhara & the next morning you will be on the laps of the Annapurna range . About 4-5 hours drive from Pokhara and 6-7 hours from Kathmandu, you will be on your first step to meet the snow- capped peaks. While going through this trek , you pass through sub-tropical forests , tropical forests, alpine forests leading ultimately to barren lands which look like Tibet. Not only the forests , but as you go on gaining altitude , you get the opportunity to witness the change in climate , culture and historical factors. Main attractions of this area are historical Brahmin-Chhettri , Gurung , Bhote & Thakali culture along with the highest elevation Lake (Tilicho Lake -4949meters.) , Throng-La Pass (5416 meters.) which has been claimed as the higest point on the Annapurna Circuit & a 511 years old monastery situated in Jharkot . Trekkers can choose any simple and welcoming guest house run by local people in Tibetan style. You can experience the staying in the remotest areas with some of the most rare people of the world. Treks range from 12 days to one month according to your preference. It is advised to take rest for a few days on the way as going up directly might cause acclimatization problem. - See more at: http://pristinetrekking.com/annapurna-r

The Annapurna region of Nepal is a land so gorgeous; it's long been the ultimate trekking dream for hikers. Here, the sacred peaks of Annapurna, Machapuchare and Dhaulagiri, shining with snow year round, tower over ancient rhododendron forests, icy glaciers/ rivers, and temperate jungles where leopard still roam. Plenty of trekkers come here for all this beauty - but few stray off the tourist routes. Pristine treks visit off-the-beaten-track villages in the Annapurna region. Walkers stay in village communities - sometimes in people's homes - so there's time for real interaction with Nepalis. We eat with families. We visit a village weaving workshop, a cheese making project, and have the chance to partake the celebration of two of the year's major festivals Dashain and Tihar. We stay at a yak farming project on the laps of the Annapurna, and the high point of our trek is a visit to sacred Khayer Lake (4500m) surrounded with shrines, and with the peak of Annapurna towering above. - See more at: http://www.pristinetrekking.com/index.php/khopra-trek#sthash.6CKb6ghk.dpuf

The Upper Mustang trek is an exotic tour to unspoil and ancient Tibetan villages, rare Buddhist arts, exotic culture and the unique beauty of the Himalayan desert. The medieval settlements of Upper Mustang and its capital Lo Mangthang, lie in the remote Himalayan desert behind the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. Geographically the land is an extension of the Tibetan plateau, characterized by windy and arid valleys, eroded canyons and unique stratified rock formations. The people in Upper Mustang are of Tibetan origin who migrated from Tibet many centuries ago, and belong to Bhotias and Loba communities. They practice Sakyapa school of Tibetan Buddhism. Upper Mustang is the only place in the World to see Tibetan culture in its completely undisturbed state. The houses and monasteries in here have their own unique local architecture and medieval look. Mostly they are built with stone and sun baked mud bricks. Upper Mustang is a land covering about 2,600 sq km in area and is home to 6,000 people. Festivals are religious in nature, the Tiji festival being the biggest.
