Perhaps the most exciting news on the internet this week was arrival of Google Buzz, a new way for Google junkies to connect socially by sharing information and interacting with each other's posts directly within their Gmail accounts. People are clamoring to let the world know what they think the implications for Facebook and Twitter will be. Many of us who have long enjoyed Google Reader as a media aggregator were delighted to see Buzz come on the scene. Whether you like the Buzz feature or not, people are definitely using it. There's no question about that. Why not let them use it by sharing your blog site, posts and pages? :) If the Buzz continues as successfully as it has so far, perhaps we'll begin to see it added as a staple to all the social media share buttons icon packages and plugins. Here are a few of the ways you can get Google Buzz incorporated into your WordPress and BuddyPress sites right now:
"Dynamic Widgets gives you full control on which pages your widgets will appear. It lets you dynamically show or hide widgets on WordPress pages by setting conditional logic rules with just a few mouse clicks. No knowledge of PHP required. No fiddling around with conditional tags. You can set conditional rules by Role, Dates, Browser, Theme Template, Language (WPML or QTranslate), URL, for the Homepage, Single Posts, Attachments, Pages, Authors, Categories, Tags, Archives, Error Page, Search Page, Custom Post Types, Custom Post Type Archives, Custom Taxonomies in Custom Post Types, Custom Taxonomies Archives, WPEC/WPSC Categories, BuddyPress Components, BuddyPress Groups, Pods pages and bbPress."
"bbPress 2.0 comes with Akismet and BuddyPress functionalities baked-in, so if you're already using either plugin, no additional configuration is required.
It is the official WordPress forum plugin, however documentation is very sparse. While implementing the forum on one of our clients' sites, I came across a number of resources and tips that I will share with you today."
"The Rating-Widget Ratings plugin allows you to create and manage ratings from within your WordPress dashboard. You can embed ratings into your posts, pages or comments. PLUS, you can embed ratings into your BuddyPress activity updates and comments. In extra, the rating support BP's bbPress forum posts ratings. All Rating-Widget ratings are fully customizable, cross-browser, support multi-language, CSS3 compliant and hosted by Rating-Widget.com. You can create unlimited ratings and collect unlimited votes. The rating editor allows you to fully customize your ratings and its placement on your blog's layout. You can also avail of the the 'Top Rated' widget that will allow you to place the widget in your sidebar. This widget will show you the top rated posts, pages and comments."
