Hello and welcome to the VoiceThread 4 Education wiki. This wiki was started by Colette Cassinelli but because of contributors like YOU - it has grown to be comprehensive collection of VoiceThread examples from students and teachers of all ages and groups. By now most of you have probably heard about Voicethread.com, the terrific, free (for K-12 educators), collaborative multimedia storytelling web application that is spreading around the world like wildfire. I've spoken about it many times, but today I want to briefly mention a couple of OUTSTANDING resources I've recently discovered that will make your use of this classroom tool a LOT easier.

Beginning with email and instant messages and stretching to texting and synchronous video web conferencing, digital dialogue has gradually become a common element of everyday life for today's students-another opportunity to "gather." The kinds of personal relationships shaped on the playground in an earlier era are now developed in MySpace and Facebook. While the format may be different, the purpose remains the same: Our students are crafting identities and are driven to connect.
