The Partnership created a Mile Guide Online Assessment to help educators and administrators gauge their school's effectiveness in integrating 21st century skills into the learning process. The 23 question assessment will help you measure the progress of your school or district in defining, teaching and assessing 21st century skills. As a result of the Online Assessment, you can initiate discussions with staff, administrators, technology directors, school board members and community leaders about improving your school's plans for 21st century skills.

The Networked Student was inspired by CCK08, a Connectivism course offered by George Siemens and Stephen Downes during fall 2008. It depicts an actual project completed by Wendy Drexler's high school students. The Networked Student concept map was inspired by Alec Couros' Networked Teacher. I hope that teachers will use it to help their colleagues, parents, and students understand networked learning in the 21st century.

There is no blinking the fact  that the type of students we teach today are completely different from last century's. We , definitely, need to look at some of the skills we, as teachers, need to equip ourselves with to better live up to the challenge. Among all the challenges we would have in education, there is not as daunting a challenge as catching students focus and getting them engaged in the learning process. For this particular reason, and in addition to the skills I initially mentioned in 21st Century Teaching Skills article, I would like to provide you  with another list of  some equally important digital skills that you, as a teacher, need to seriously consider if you want to pave the way for the 21st century teaching. I have added a list of web tools under each skill for teachers to better exploit it.

C3PO stands for Connecting Peers, Perspectives, and Pedagogy Online. This website is designed to give educators the resources they need to connect with other classrooms from around the world in order to collaborate and learn in an authentic 21st century environment. In this age of increased emphasis on literacy, higher demands for technology, and rapidly depleting school budgets, this type of free, online collaboration is both highly necessary and relevant.

Educational Origami is a blog, and a wiki, about the integration of ICT into the classroom, this is one of the largest challenges that I feel we as teachers face. Its about 21st Century Learning and 21st Century Teaching. Marc Prensky coined the now popular and famous phrase "Digital natives and digital immigrants" in his two papers on digital Children.

In this series of lessons, students learn the purpose of an electronic portfolio; use Google Blogger to create such a portfolio of their best work, including multimedia extensions as desired; and respond to each other's work online using the Comments feature of the blogs. Teachers create a basic class website from which to link to each blog. This fosters an online community in which students can easily move from blog to blog to view and respond to each other's content.

In an increasingly complex, demanding and competitive 21st century, students need to learn more than the 3R's they are tested on in school. It's time to help them go "above & beyond", by embracing the 4Cs - communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity.     To get the word out to about the "3Rs + 4Cs" approach, P21 and FableVision partnered to produce a short, animated film called Above & Beyond. The purpose of this course is to provide "Just in Time" training through an online interface for K-12 educators based on the National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS-T). These standards are the basic technology skills every educator should possess. In the process, educators will develop their own skills and discover what students need in order to meet the NETS for Students, as well as the new MMC Online Experience requirement. What are the characteristics we would expect to see in a successful 21st century educator? Well, we know they are student-centric, holistic, and they're teaching about how to learn as much as teaching about the subject area. We know, too, that they must be 21st century learners as well.
