Spanish-English Sentences (beta) - Powered by Spanish-Only.com - 0 views

  •
Welcome to the Spanish-English sentence database powered by Spanish-Only.com! Why this database? I've been studying Spanish for several years now, but looking for good example sentences in one place was always something that seemed impossible. Because I also have my own blog and several of my readers asked me to share my sentence deck I decided to make one big database filled with Spanish-English sentences to help everyone out there really learning Spanish. These sentences are best used in combination with a Spaced Repetition System (read: What's an SRS?). This way YOU can learn Spanish words and grammar in a fun and relaxing way too.

Workbench - Database - 0 views

  •
Molecular Workbench offers interactive, visual simulations and activities that have been widely used in science teaching for students of all ages. Our database is designed to provide teachers and students with easy access to our model-based activities. The activities are derived largely, but not entirely, from projects of the Concord Consortium sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The models are primarily of interactions of atoms and molecules, or rule-based genetics.

Open Library - 0 views

One web page for every book ever published. It's a lofty, but achievable, goal. To build it, we need hundreds of millions of book records, a brand new database infrastructure for handling huge amounts of dynamic information, a wiki interface, multi-language support, and people who are willing to contribute their time, effort, and book data. To date, we have gathered about 30 million records (20 million are available through the site now), and more are on the way. We have built the database infrastructure and the wiki interface, and you can search millions of book records, narrow results by facet, and search across the full text of 1 million scanned books. Open Library is a project of the non-profit Internet Archive, and is funded in part by a grant from the California State Library. We have a small team of fantastic programmers who have accomplished a lot, but we can't do it alone! This is an Open project - the software is open, the data is open, the documentation is open, and the site is open.

Education Update:Caught in the Middle:Looking Within: Teachers Leading Their Own Learning - 0 views

  •
"The most powerful and ample resource for change in education is teachers' own expertise. Yet, teachers are regularly overstepped when it comes to leading school improvement. In the United States, less than one-fourth of teachers feel that they have great influence over school decisions and policies in seven different areas, as noted in the National Center for Educational Statistics' Schools and Staffing Survey (SASS) database for 2003-04 reported by the National Staff Development Council (NSDC) in Professional Learning in the Learning Profession: A Status Report on Teacher Development in the U.S. and Abroad."
