Storm, distributed and fault-tolerant realtime computation - 0 views

  •
"Apache Storm is a free and open source distributed realtime computation system. Storm makes it easy to reliably process unbounded streams of data, doing for realtime processing what Hadoop did for batch processing. Storm is simple, can be used with any programming language, and is a lot of fun to use!"

CODE | Commercially Empowered Linked Open Data Ecosystems in Research - 1 views

  •
"CODE's vision is to establish the foundation for a web-based, commercially oriented ecosystem for Linked Open Data.
Our use case focuses on research papers as a source for mining facts and their integration into LOD repositories and light-weight ontologies. Hence, we will leverage the wealth of knowledge contained in research publications on a semantic, machine-readable level by creating the Linked Science Data cloud."

Apache Hive TM - 0 views

  •
"The Apache Hive ™ data warehouse software facilitates querying and managing large datasets residing in distributed storage. Hive provides a mechanism to project structure onto this data and query the data using a SQL-like language called HiveQL. At the same time this language also allows traditional map/reduce programmers to plug in their custom mappers and reducers when it is inconvenient or inefficient to express this logic in HiveQL."

Wikidata/Notes/DBpedia and Wikidata - Meta - 0 views

  •
DBpedia is a great and active project dealing with structured data and Wikipedia. Whereas on the first glance DBpedia and Wikidata may look like they have a lot of overlap, they actually do not: they fulfill very different tasks, and there is a small overlap where we need to figure out together how to best co-evolve.

SADI - 0 views

  •
As with any Web Services framework, SADI can expose any source of dynamically-generated information. In most cases this means Web-based analytical algorithms, but any source of data would be applicable - including robots, or even distributed human curators. Because SADI Services are stateless and atomic, Web Services that expose a set of stateful object methods cannot easily be exposed as SADI Services (though in many cases these services could be re-written to follow SADI conventions, and take advantage of the added semantic behaviours). Our observations suggest, however, that almost all services currently available in the bioinformatics space have a SADI-like behaviour that easily maps onto the SADI conventions.

NKOS (Networked Knowledge Organization Systems) - 0 views

  •
Knowledge Organization Systems/Services (KOS) model the underlying semantic structure of a domain. Embodied as Web-based services, they can facilitate resource discovery and retrieval. They act as semantic road maps and make possible a common orientation by indexers and future users (whether human or machine).
