Learning 2.0 - The Impact of Social Media on Learning in Europe - 0 views

  •
This policy brief by Christine Redecker, Kirsti Ala-Mutka and Yves Punie of IPTS, discusses how social computing promote the competences needed for future jobs and enable new tools for educational institutions, and are therefore at the core of education and training. The discussed research suggests that social media can contribute to enhancing and innovating learning and teaching opportunities and the findings indicate that learning strategies that make use of social media can contribute to innovation in Education and Training in Europe by facilitating technological, pedagogical and organisational innovation.

Interesting resource. Among the 6 mentioned (HootSuite, CrowdBooster, Raven Tools, Main Street Hub,Social mention, OnlyWire) I knew only 2 and thanks to Maria who posted this page, I discovered the remaining ones. Disadvantage: some of them are exclusively for businesses (Raven tools). Another one is so expensive for an LLP (199€/month for Main Street Hub). When we'll create the framework of our handbooks we should be careful in suggesting one or two because every time those apps ask to login with yout twitter or FB account and I'm cautious with appls using this information for analysis purposes...

Klout is not mentioned, which seems to me the most appropriate tool for an LLP project (simple, free with easy to share data).
