    Limited access to 17 art galleries in museums around the world. Google has used StreetMaps technology to provide incredible resolution and virtual imagery of galleries and artworks.

    Research Tool? Not exactly. This site, however, is an incredible tool to get closer to masterpieces than you could in person. Detailed descriptions of the works on this site are available and easily navigated.

    It is unfortunate that this project is still in development. The virtual tours of museums thousands of miles away, and the incredible resolution of the images make this site a favorite. Not necessarily for research, but for review and critique it is amazing.
