That is what we endeavored to find out when in June 2011, we did a survey of about 200 people to see if they understood and were applying Web 3.0. Some of the answers we got back were expected, but we also did get some surprises.

Even though there has been so much written about it, and so much of the tech press has been talking about it for quite some time now. The hottest buzzword going around the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco wasn't the latest, greatest new social platform. It was Web 3.0.

    While still very early in its evolution and application, Siri is collecting a monster database of human behavior. Siri goes beyond "need" to "intent" - not what somebody wants, but why. Call it technographic, call it behavioral or call it semantic - whatever the term, Apple, not Google or Microsoft, may be ushering in the era of Web 3.0 and language-based search (and with it, capturing the ad dollars that will surely follow.)
