Bag of Tricks

This is a good reading and speaking task which includes scientific issues in a simplified language. The topic is attractive for teenagers and there are enough discussion issues to use as a reading and speaking exercise in the class situation.

This activity is useful for listening and comprehension. I asked my 10 years old learner to listen and retell whatever she understood from the whole clip.It's quite suitable for low intermediate.

It's a matching game which provides pictures, written words and pronunciations. I tried it on beginning learners of 5 and 10 years old. They played it for several times with enthusiasm.

This is a quite good activity to practice spelling and typing speed. Intermediate and advanced level of students may find it useful and fun. It may also develop word stock of the learner. It has tree level of difficulty; easy, medium and hard. I myself tried all of them and the hard level met my needs and abilities. Try it and improve your spelling and typing speed.

This was the activity which i would recommend to intermediate. learners. It would be reasonable to give them questions beforehand in order to concentrate their attention span on their listening. In this way they would be able to absorb the information more thoroughly.

I tried this activity with my 9-year-old student of beginning level.Children at this age irrespective of their proficiency level are eager to listen to any tales.It helps her to product her speeh usiin the limited stock of vocabulary, even separate words. But her excitement and willingness empowered her to solve the appropriate puzzle based on the fable.

I used this video/audio file to teach my 9 years old niece and her 8 years old friend English prepositions of places. The interesting thing was that I didn't tell them that they were going to learn prepositions . I just played the video clip and went away letting them watch and enjoy it. After watching the video clip several times, I noticed that they were learning prepositions by discussing the video clip and translating prepositions into Armenian language. Hence, I found this video clip to be very useful for teaching prepositions to children in an entertaining way.

I used this video/audio flash cards to teach my neighbors' 13 years old son and his 2 classmates the Present Simple tense. Although, the students have learned present simple at school they didn't internalize it properly. They were mixing present simple with present continuous. Hence, I used these video/audio flash cards to help them. First, I explained the way how and where to use present simple and present continuous and then I played the video/audio file to let the students practice and internalize the material properly. Overall, I want to say that I found this material to be very helpful for both students and teachers especially when there is a confusion between present simple and present continuous tenses.

I used this video/audio file for teaching 15 children from AUA EEC classes to describe weather (i.e. it is rainy, it is cloudy, it is snowy, it is sunny and etc). This video/audio file helped me to teach children in an enjoyable way. This activity worked well and all the students learned the target material properly.

I used this video/audio file for teaching time to 15 AUA, EEC upper-elementary level children whose age ranged from 8 to 11. This video/audio file helped me to keep children's' attention focused on learning. At first, they were supposed to watched the video and then to tell the correct time. This activity worked well and all the students learned the target material properly, moreover, there wasn't a need to play the video file several times.

I used this audio/video file during my practicum to teach 5 to 7 years old 10 little kids from AUA EEC courses and it succeeded. It was an entertaining way of teaching. The kids were motivated because they could hear and watch a colorful video clip. As in this audio/video file kids were singing and dancing by pointing out their parts of the body. Watching this motivated the kids and they started to imitate them. After playing the audio and video file several times they learned it by heart.

I tried out this activity with my daughter who is a beginner. However, she could manage it as some words are simple to undersatnd as they are traditional names of meals. She was so excited to choose the right instructions to achieve the target.

this activity is great for intermediate and advanced learners to develop their comprehension,reading and creative skills.It works great as after creating the story the learners are given the opportunity to reflect on the story as well.

This activity could be administrated at intermediate and advanced learners after introducing them some suffixes and prefixes separately.The activity will promote their ability to distinguish this staff forming the words.

I have tried this activity with my group of advaned learners, and it was really efficient, as they are used to learn the words through glossaries.Besides,it helped to enhance their vocabulary adding some new words with their definitions.

This is a very exciting activity for the learners of any age who are in their beginning level. While teaching i tried it out and discovered that learners were more attentive to the details. I would recommend it to any learners who want to learn writing and pronouncing correctly. Don't miss your chance to learn them quickly and effectevily!!!

Through this activity a learner can enlarge his/her stock of vocabulary, to think how to find out any substitute word. I tried it out with my son who is 11 years old but he encountered on some difficulties from the beginning which i think will be overcome if i redo the activity several times.

I would like to share my practice with you. While doing this activity with my neighbor's son who is 9 years old boy, he did the very first part enthusiastically and continued the activity up to the end with the same stage. What i liked in this activity is that if a learner's listening comprehension is not so well developed,there are some sub-sentences provided below by which they can understand the story.
