A VIU: Learning Community

Sometimes forgotten, for it is certainly not new or "sexy", yet a powerful quizzing tool to add to your collection of non-LMS Web 2.0 resources. Very, very robust. Allows you to manage classes, quizzes, and reports. Easy to use. Stable (I first started to use it over a decade ago). Once you create an account, you will see the tabs across the top of the page for instructors.

Something that needs close attention. If one is to be successful with online communication and information access (consider filling out an application form [more and more online only] or a tax form) literacy is imperative. Adult Basic Education seems to be first in line to be cut, which has some pretty major ramifications!

Interesting shift in teacher education content. Indeed, harkens back to Randy's comment about use technology if it helps, not as a driver of education. :)

Look no further, this wiki lists sixteen categories of online tools, additional online sites, as well it has a teacher resource section, and if you know of a cool web 2.0 site not listed you can email the creater and she will add it to the site.

Really good site that Jay Cross has developed.  This site has a blog, and "Important Stuff" among other "stuff" that Jay Cross has compiled.  His compilations include interesting and thought provoking information from the on-line world from Ted Talks and Stephen Downes to John Dewey.
