S'il est une question qui concerne aujourd'hui les dirigeants d'entreprises dans un contexte de transition entre « l'ancien monde » et « le monde numérique », c'est certainement « comment créer, transformer et capturer la valeur dans les écosystèmes numériques, alors même que la notion-même de valeur change dans un monde numérique » ? Pour permettre aux dirigeants d'entreprises de mieux anticiper ces mutations et notamment les indispensables évolutions de leurs modèles d'affaires, le CIGREF vient de présenter « Les Essentiels » du Programme international de recherche « Information Systems Dynamics », porté par la Fondation CIGREF. Avec ces « Essentiels », la Fondation CIGREF propose une synthèse de chacun des projets de recherche portés par le programme « ISD », programme lancé afin de « dessiner les contours possibles de l'entreprise de 2020, en tenant compte à la fois de l'histoire des usages des systèmes d'information dans l'entreprise et des émergences en cours ». Le programme ISD a retenu le design organisationnel comme perspective conceptuelle centrale, à partir de la prise en compte de cinq dimensions (ou tendances) en interaction : stratégique, organisationnelle, sociétale, technologique et réglementaire.

Deloitte a publié une étude affirmant que l'open data apportera à l'économie du Royaume-Uni non seulement croissance, mais aussi innovation et ingéniosité. Selon ce rapport, l'écosystème open data a des implications fondamentales pour le futur des affaires et la nature des relations client. La tendance vers une plus grande offre et un plus grand usage de l'open data sera irrésistible, obligeant les entreprises à concevoir de nouveaux modèles commerciaux. Elles devront en tirer de meilleurs enseignements, mais aussi développer de nouvelles façons d'échanger avec les parties prenantes et ainsi permettre aux bénéfices économiques et sociaux de l'open data d'émerger.

Notre capacité à collecter des données est aujourd'hui complètement inédite car elle n'a jamais été aussi grande. La technologie nous permet à présent de rassembler, stocker, et reproduire des données de manière performante et économiquement abordable. Dès lors, le défi que pose ce changement à l'écosystème de l'information décisionnelle se résume dans notre capacité à traiter cette abondance nouvelle et à en tirer l'ensemble des bénéfices contenus comme une promesse dans cette ressource opulente. Et à mesure que leurs données complexes croissent de façon déstructurée, un nombre toujours plus important d'entreprises souhaitent participer à cette pêche miraculeuse. Néanmoins il apparaît clairement que nos outils traditionnels, rapports et autres tableaux, sont inadaptés et sous-proportionnés pour s'attaquer au challenge naissant des données massives. Les capacités perceptives humaines s'imposent comme la seule véritable approche envisageable pour l'appréhension de volumes de données très vastes et l'identification de phénomènes particuliers, de tendances. Par conséquent, la présentation des données doit désormais migrer vers de nouveaux formats, visuels. 

In 2001, when the World Economic Forum first published  The Global Information and Technology Report (GITR),  the dot-com bubble had just burst; there were fewer than  20 million mobile phone users in all of Africa; and Apple  Inc.'s product line was confined to Macintosh computers.  That Report presented an optimistic view of the future,  highlighting the transformational potential of information  and communication technologies (ICT) in advancing the  progress of global society and business. In the decade  that followed, Booz & Company has witnessed firsthand  the realization of that potential in its work with clients and  communities worldwide and through its long-standing  involvement with the GITR. Today there are more than  500 million mobile phone subscribers in Africa, and  Apple is the world's largest company in market capitalization, producing iPhones, iPods, and iPads along with  Mac computers. Despite the strides the sector has made  since the technology bust in 2001, however, we believe  we are only just beginning to feel the impact of digitization-the mass adoption by consumers, businesses, and  governments of smart and connected ICT. Success in the digitization world-where competitors from Shenzhen to Schengen can emerge seemingly  overnight-requires policymakers and business leaders  to go back to the drawing board to identify and build  "right-to-win" capabilities in their spheres of influence.  Digitization is more than a matter of access. Bon soyons franc et honnête d'entrée, ce dossier n'a pas pour objet une démonstration nostradamusienne et je n'ambitionne pas d'annoncer, à la façon maya (oui, ça fait beaucoup de faux pères spirituels), la fin de la net économie de ce début des années 2000. Mon bagage économique ne me le permettrait pas : ça n'est pas parce qu'en classe préparatoire on nous dit qu'on est « l'élite de la nation » qu'il faut le croire  ; et quand bien même ce bagage serait suffisant - avec par exemple un Nobel en poche, jouer la carte du pronostic à la volée ne serait pas très avisé ! Ceci n'est qu'une réflexion personnelle.

"One of the most interesting start-ups that keeps popping up on my radar screen is Crowdflower, which connects nonprofits and companies with people around the globe looking to work on crowdsourced tasks. It's a fascinating glimpse at future contract labor models and at how work relationships are becoming more distributed, global, ephemeral and efficient. Crowdflower takes simple tasks and breaks them down, using a global network of workers to determine, say, if a tweet about a brand is negative or positive, or if a piece of content violates a site's community guidelines. The person might spend 2 minutes on a task, an hour, or more. "The advantage is that the person doesn't have to drive to work, they don't even have to sign up for a website. They can just come to a job post, accomplish a task and get paid - in minutes," says Crowdflower CEO and founder Lukas Biewald."

Since young people tend to drive technology trends, poor back-to-school sales of PCs say more than a drop in overall sales alone. The slow decline of industrial manufacturing in developed nations and recent failures of financial capitalism across the globe have sent us searching for a new model of economic growth. I see the two movements of Technology Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship beginning to converge into a promising solution. An increasing number of entrepreneurs are awakening to the possibility of combining the scalable tools and methodology of Technology Entrepreneurship with the world-centric value system of Social Entrepreneurship. Together they create a new type of entrepreneurship that could become our primary source of socioeconomic value creation. What do we call this movement? I propose we call it "Transformational Entrepreneurship."*
