Making Data More Usable With ScraperWiki September 20, 2011, 3:00 pm By Jason B. Jones The great strength of the internet is also its weakness: There is So! Much! Information! out there-so much, in fact, that it can become hard to access. And not everyone who publishes the same kind of information, or information about the same topic, publishes it in the same way, or to common repositories.

Comprehensive guide to .htaccess- intro - 0 views

"Comprehensive guide to .htaccess Tutorial written and contributed by Feyd, moderator of the JK Forum, with additions by JavaScriptKit.com. Please see tutorial footnote for additional/bio info on author. Last updated: Jan 18th, 06' for additional section. I am sure that most of you have heard of htaccess, if just vaguely, and that you may think you have a fair idea of what can be done with an htaccess file. You are more than likely mistaken about that, however. Regardless, even if you have never heard of htaccess and what it can do for you, the intention of this tutorial is to get you two moving along nicely together. If you have heard of htaccess, chances are that it has been in relation to implementing custom error pages or password protected directories. But there is much more available to you through the marvelously simple .htaccess file."

Working with Multiple Versions of Office - 0 views

  •
If you're a support professional, you know all about having multiple versions of software on your system. You need to cover the bases by having all the versions that your users may blow up. However, even if you're not a techie, you may be one of those more cautious people who would like to keep the old version of your software running while installing/learning the new version...just in case!

Nanotube Radio - 0 views

  •
We have constructed a fully functional, fully integrated radio receiver, orders-of-magnitude smaller than any previous radio, from a single carbon nanotube. The single nanotube serves, at once, as all major components of a radio: antenna, tuner, amplifier, and demodulator. Moreover, the antenna and tuner are implemented in a radically different manner than traditional radios, receiving signals via high frequency mechanical vibrations of the nanotube rather than through traditional electrical means. We have already used the nanotube radio to receive and play music from FM radio transmissions such as Layla by Eric Clapton (Derek and the Dominos) and the Beach Boy's Good Vibrations. The nanotube radio's extremely small size could enable radical new applications such as radio controlled devices small enough to exist in the human bloodstream, or simply smaller, cheaper, and more efficient wireless devices such as cellular phones.
