embed-ible resources for all sorts of visual learning.  One could use some of the data visualizations to show the importance of learning a second or third language.

I like how visual the site is. Other than infographics it incorporates videos and other interactives. I even saw Venn Diagrams. It has a lot to offer to use in the classroom for students and outside the classroom with other teachers or administrators.

This site provides comprehensive resources to learn how to read and write about graphs and charts. Especially useful for EDTC 615 students.

When it comes to searching for educational apps to install on your iPad it feels like you get drowned in an avalanche of apps and resources from which you emerge empty-handed. Everyday new apps go viral and to keep up with the updates in this field is really a daunting challenge. Thankfully, there are many trusted educational resources ( this blog is one of them ) where educators and teachers can get to discover and learn about new useful apps to use in education.

I was looking at the applications familiar to me under Bloom's Taxonomy for iPads and for some reason it was surprising to find Skype as an evaluating tool! How could Skype be used for evaluating!?

Van Nood explains that after spending years with paper portfolios, he transitioned this concept into digital form, and have started to implement Evernote as the primarily system for creating portfolios in his classroom. He was using portfolios with limited success and spending a lot of time on them, until Evernote came into the picture. When he first started researching options, he was coming across a lot of companies that were really expensive, charging a lot for each student's use. He also knew that he needed an app for mobile devices that would make it easy to capture and document paperwork and he wasn't finding that in most of the tools I was evaluating. Evernote was free, had an app for virtually every device, and he could get started right away.

Jing, together with Camtasia Studio and Screencast are an amazing product. You record with Jing, save it into an MP4 with Camtasia and publish it to others with Screencast. These are by far my favorite tools, but I have never used them with students. WIth jing you can share your screen and talk over what you are seeing on the screen. Camtasia gives you the ability to edit what you created, add in call outs, zoom and pan, pixilate images, use tools like circles, arrows, dialog bubbles, etc. and then publish them with a URL to share with others. I would love to use this tool with students.

This is an Animoto presentation that I found and tweaked to use with my classes this year. It gives some guidelines to my students about how to effectively participate on Edmodo.

I chose to use this tool to explore Connections and Media Literacy.

On this website, Wesley Fryer gives some great definitions of copyright rules, including a mnemonic device to use with students to help them remember the basic principles of sharing media ("Harry Potter Can Fly"). There are also other good links and a video all on the theme of fair use and copyright.

Neat and fun website to teach kids about copyrights.

Information Literacy is the ability to identify what information is needed, understand how the information is organized, identify the best sources of information for a given need, locate those sources, evaluate the sources critically, and share that information. It is the knowledge of commonly used research techniques.

This site is for elementary students, but if they can do it, we certainly can!

The 'flipped' FL class and the technologies that can be used.  More props for digital story telling, blogs, Google apps Twitter, VoiceThread, and more. 

Paper.li provides a forum for students to find TL newspaper articles and publish an online class newspaper. This could be used with upper-level students to expose them to news and authentic language materials, and allow them to create based on their interests.

Worth a read...and useful to share with parents, administrators and students.
