Calli Roberts on 19 Mar 09Semali describes literacy and the teaching of literacy. Semali states that many people are subconsciously gender bias because of things they see. For example, in advertising, a women cleaning the house instead of a man may help support a more gender bias role. Every part of the media has some sort of bias if it does not seem obvious or relevant. This article is relevant to my research because although it is not directly related to politics, it shows how the media can influence people easily. The media is the key reason why a politician wins an election. If the media can control gender bias, then it is more likely to affect other people. The media can control how people are perceived and in this case, men and women.
