Making a lesson plan is easy. Creating an effective lesson plan is the key to effective teaching and a critical factor in achieving positive student outcomes.
I am floored to find 617 lesson plans using Twitter on the TES site. Some talk about social networks and society, advertising, etc. and others are recommendations for teachers, however, Twitter is increasingly becoming PART Of lessons and what we do. I think that eventually we'll have to make friends with social media in education just as we did with email.

Why Teachers Should Try Twitter

I've got an embarrassing confession to make: Until recently, I wasn't convinced that differentiating learning opportunities for students really mattered. Like many teachers, I would deliver one lesson each day, keeping my fingers crossed that I met everyone's needs. And even though I've always had a sense for the strengths and weaknesses of my individual students, I rarely drew on that knowledge to make specific changes in instruction or assignments.
I started receiving about five complaints a day—still, the math was good: five complaints from 140,000 exposures? I can deal with complaints but, in a sense, my idea worked too well.
600 people signed up for it. That was surprisingly high, but what’s even more interesting is that only fifty of the 450 Twitterfeed folks stopped doing it.
We got to talking about how she increased her traffic, and she told me that a “Post to Twitter” link was the most effective mechanism.
