TweetChat helps put your blinders on to the Twitter-sphere while you monitor and chat about one topic.
Each tweet you make automatically gets a hashtag added for the room you are in - no need to worry about hashtag typos
The Twitter #ideaparty is fun, once you get the hang of it. To get started, I just went to www.tweetchat.com, entered my Twitter name & password, then selected ideaparty to get into the chat room. Nice thing is that it then automatically plugs in the "#ideaparty" for you, but of course that counts as some of your 140 characters for a tweet. There is so much traffic already in the #ideaparty already on some days, I can hardly wait to see how it goes on the BIG launch day, Tuesday March 24, 2009, for the World Wide Rave for Wishcraft 30th Anniversary edition. Awesome stuff!
Barbara Sher, author of Wishcraft, started a Twitter thread-thingie called #ideaparty. Its for problem-solving wishes and obstacles together with other Twitterers. You can join the party thru a "chat" room, or do it thru your Twitter account. Just use the #ideaparty hashtag. Read this first: http://www.barbarasherwishcraft.com/
Twitter is a lot like a dinner with a large group of friends at a big table in a busy restaurant. Everyone is chatting, there's a lot being said, and if you're not focused on a particular conversation, it sounds downright noisy. So just like a large group setting in real life, there are some conventions about how people tune in to listen and the most effective ways to be sociable.
IM meets Twitter. Joint is an IM platform that uses your existing Twitter network. It takes away all the constraints of Twitter messaging and lets you have engaging, flexible, and realtime conversations.
