TWC301: Multimedia Writing

This website explained exactly that of its title, the six common misconceptions about team work. I really liked this website because it gave me ideas on how to effectively manage a team by looking at what not to do. This website would be a good look for someone who is trying to improve teamwork.

This website did not cover any form of multimedia communication. It specifically went over how to bring a team together. I enjoyed it because it gave me ways to inspire others.

this website helped me to understand manovich a little more because it explains to you more what new media is and the main aspects of it. in the reading we did manovich explained it it much more detail which can be a little overwhelming so this help me to understand it alot more.

I thought this small webpage was very useful! I wanted to focus on the five differences that Manovich mentions. This one focuses on numerical representation. It summarizes the two main categories: the digital code created mathematically and the digital code created with an algorithm.

To keep every one interested in a project and keep them on their toes this article tell us why constructive conflict is important, how to keep te conflicts from going beyond constructive and how to keep everything fair within a group. 

This site simply list six steps to solve problems among a group. This is helpful for project 2 because we will be working in groups in which we may not all agree on every subject.

I like how this website tells you on how in some groups some people might fail to do their work. It explains on how you have to create an "A" TEAM the 5 elements of team bulding which are aquaintance, tolerance, expression, appreceiation and mutual benefit. On each it gives good explanation and information for each word.

This article provides an additional perspective of the "media revolution."  In its ability to transmit knowledge, a medium is a catalyst to open up new possibilities and perspectives to its audience. The media revolution took place when digitalization became a global and universal process. It is also described here as "irreversible;" it involves a great deal of change at the economic, social, political, and cultural levels of a society. This article also covers the process of shifting into a more computerized state; the first stage, for example, involves adapting traditional tasks from the old medium to the new. From there, the people speculate about the future.

I think an important part of part 2 of Team Writing is constructive conflict. I thought this website was useful because it provided the reader with the benefits of constructive conflict. I have taking a course called Organizational Behavior and they also stress that constructive conflict is important in a team. I also think it goes well with the team project we are working on now.

This website offers more information on the phenomenon of "Groupthink," how to spot it, and how to avoid it. This is mainly intended for the workplace, but a lot of it is relevant for school groups, too. The term "Groupthink" was coined by Irving Janis, who pointed out that Groupthink occurs when there is one strong, persuasive group leader, a high level of group cohesion, and intense pressure from an outside source to make a good decision. This site suggests that when a group is in the decision-making process, in order to avoid Groupthink, they should make a point to explore objectives and alternatives, as well as to encourage members to challenge each others' ideas. The "Team Writing" text mentioned using brainstorming as a tactic, in which ideas are allowed to flow freely without any form of evaluation from the group. This site mentions such a tactic, as well as spreading out contribution to include everyone and giving each member a different perspective so that someone will always be playing the "Devil's Advocate."

This website was good at describing the definitions of repetition and also it provided some good picture examples

This article is a basic intro to repetition but it also goes into how to create repetition in various graphic programs out there such as Illustrator, InDesign and QuarkXPress. It's nice and short and provides visuals for reference.

Here is an article from "learn to do it right" about improving the readability of your webpage design. This article takes into account that onscreen reading is up to 25% slower then print reading which was something I hadn't heard before. One thing this article stresses is the use of left aligned text to increase your webpages scanability.
