Peachtree Group Acquires HGI in Denver - 0 views

    Peachtree Group recently acquired the 180-room Hilton Garden Inn Denver Tech Center in Denver, marking its second hotel in Denver after the Element Denver Park Meadows. The company's hospitality management team will oversee the seven-story hotel located in the city's employment hub, Peachtree said in a statement. However, the financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed. "We are excited to acquire this premium-branded hotel in a growing submarket with a variety of diverse and stable demand generators," said Michael Bernath, Peachtree's senior vice president for acquisitions. "The Denver economy is well diversified, with the city gaining recognition as a burgeoning tech hub. We believe the expansion of the R-Line, increased connectivity of the area and the completion of the transformative Bellview Station development will continue to make the Denver Tech Center an attractive destination for consumers and corporations alike." Peachtree aims to further invest in the property, which was previously renovated in 2014, the statement said. The hotel is near the under-development Bellview Station, a transit-oriented mixed-use development spanning more than 50 acres. There are companies including Comcast, Oracle, Microsoft, Zoom, Charles Schwab, Fidelity Investments, Newmont Mining, and Western Union in the vicinity.

Survey: Americans favor 'Bleisure' trips as business travel rebounds - 0 views

    OF THE TWO in five Americans going on business trips this year, 49 percent intend to turn it into a "bleisure" trip, according to a recent survey by Howdy.com. Bleisure is a blend of "business" and "leisure," differing from "workcations," where workers integrate vacation with work at a destination of their choice. While about a quarter of survey respondents opt for workcations to save paid time off, 60 percent of American business travelers prefer bleisure trips. Approximately 64 percent of American workers attribute the rise of bleisure to improved work-life balance as business travel rebounds post-COVID-19. Despite only about 30 percent of workers being familiar with the term bleisure, many are embracing the concept, said Howdy.com, a talent sourcing firm based in Austin, Texas. The Howdy.com survey of more than 1,000 full-time employees across the U.S., found that more than two-thirds of respondents would be attracted to jobs that encourage bleisure, while many suggest that companies should offer a "free day" on work trips to promote bleisure. The survey revealed that about 75 percent of respondents would be more inclined to collaborate with international teams if provided with increased bleisure travel opportunities.

Additionally, this year will mark the debut of Hilton's 400th property in this category. "As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hilton's entry into the lifestyle segment, we look ahead to even more rapid growth with a powerhouse lineup of brands that will meet the needs of developers and guests alike in some of the world's most desirable locations," said Kevin Jacobs, Hilton's chief financial officer and president, global development. "The recent addition of the Graduate and NoMad brands to our lifestyle and luxury lifestyle portfolio will accelerate our growth as we look for more opportunities to deliver the exceptional experiences guests want in the world's top hotel destinations."

"We haven't seen Memorial Day weekend travel numbers like these in almost 20 years," said Paula Twidale, AAA Travel's senior vice president. "We're projecting an additional one million travelers this holiday weekend compared to 2019, which not only means we're exceeding pre-pandemic levels but also signals a very busy summer travel season ahead." The number of drivers this year is up 4 percent compared to last year and 1.9 percent higher than in 2019, the auto club said. Traveling by car is appealing for many people because of the convenience and flexibility it provides.

However, it indicates that persistent inflation remains a significant obstacle to growth for hoteliers and other travel-related businesses.
