For as long as I have been involved in education, the focus for finding the key to fixing education has always been about providing professional development for the teachers and administrators. The philosophy is top-down with the intent that knowledge will eventually trickle down to benefit the students.

A simple to use social network for schools that supports photos, blogs, assignments, videos, files and embed html. The site also has a blog feature, calendar and many other fab features. You can set your class to private or public.

Check out Edmodo too. They do the same thing. Looks a lot like Facebook so very intuitive for kids and teachers to use.

Education blogs, on any and every topic, abound online. Unfortunately, educators are probably the last people who have the time to go out and search for them. Which blogs review good free resources? Which can offer information about school reform trends? Which highlight short, how-to videos for those who aren't very tech-savvy?

I "liked" this education blog ages ago on Facebook and there's always heaps of interesting articles and insights into anything related to education.
