Five Star Group affiliates, Five Star Hospitality Management and Dream Capital, recently named Justin Patel senior associate, investments and asset management and Kimberly Rowell to executive vice president. Patel was previously a senior asset management analyst at Peachtree Group while Rowell joined in February 2023. Dalton, Georgia-based Five Star Group, founded by Naren Patel in 1990, announced the changes. At Peachtree Group, Patel managed more than 20 hotels nationwide and assisting in 12 dispositions. Prior to Peachtree, he was asset manager at 33 Degrees, a commercial real estate firm. "Justin takes an insightful approach to project management, making him an invaluable member of the Dream Capital team as we continue to provide our investors with the opportunity to invest in both credit and equity investments in various asset classes in commercial real estate," said Ankit Govan, Dream Capital's managing principal and co-founder. PEACHTREE GROUP'S CREDIT division has closed $556 million in loan originations, accounting for half of the $1.1 billion deployed by the company this year. The remaining $526 million was allocated for the acquisition of five hotels and the initiation of three new hotel development projects. The company also launched five hotels that were under construction as of September, Peachtree Group said in a statement. Julie Arrowsmith, Carrollton, Texas-based G6's president and chief financial officer, has been appointed interim CEO. A NEW SURVEY finds that nearly three in five U.S. travelers plan to "trip-stack" this holiday season by adding another destination or trip directly following or leading up to their existing travel plans. The survey by G6 Hospitality's economy lodging brand Motel 6, also found that most travelers will be looking to try something new. The fifth annual holiday survey also found that, along with plans to trip-stack, 67 percent of respondents said that holidays are the only time when friends and family are available to travel. More than half, 52 percent, of those surveyed plan to cross an average of three state lines while on their winter trips and 46 percent plan to stay at a hotel or motel for their trips, the survey, which received response from 2,000 Americans, pointed out.

STONEBRIDGE COS. JUST acquired five properties, totaling a 1,200-key portfolio across the U.S. in late November. Baird/STR went up 0.7 percent during April. The index decreased 2.8 percent over the first five months of 2022. It increased 2.2 percent in March after rising 4.1 percent in February. Baird/STR index fell behind the S&P 500, which was flat from April, but surpassed the MSCI US REIT Index, which was down 6.3 percent. LAS VEGAS LED the top 25 markets in meetings and events growth for September, with a 34.2 percent year-over-year increase, according to Cendyn's Sales Intelligence platform, formerly Knowland. This marked its eighth consecutive month in the top five. Las Vegas meetings and events averaged 5,596 square feet with 209 attendees, driven by weddings, accounting for about 10 percent of event volume, and tech events like Oracle SuiteWorld, according to Cendyn. Anaheim ranked second, hosting education, national associations, and weddings. Across the top 25 markets, average space rose to 3,856 square feet with 130 attendees.
