E' un pò la capitale della Grecìa, forse perchè in essa sono più vivi i legami con l'antica madrepatria. Gli anziani parlano il griko (accanto al dialetto leccese) ma anche i giovani cercano di non perdere i contatti con la lingua dei padri.
