This state divides into three geographical areas - the Brahmaputra Valley at the western and central part of the states, the Barak Valley extending at the eastern-south side, and the intervening Karbi Plateau and North Cachar Hills. Assam shares national borders with Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, and West Bengal. It also shares international borders with Bangladesh and Bhutan. There are many national parks and wildlife sanctuaries are seen, they are Kaziranga National Park, Manas National Park, Nameri National Park, Dibru-Saikhowa National Park and Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary etc.
