STR: U.S. hotel performance flat in third week of January - 0 views

    U.S. HOTEL PERFORMANCE remained relatively flat during the third week of January, according to STR. Tampa, Florida, led the top 25 markets in terms of occupancy. Occupancy was 48.7 percent for the week ending Jan. 22, and it was 48.8 percent the week before. It was down 15.9 percent from the comparable week in 2019. ADR was $122.17 for the week, almost same as the week before at $122.12 and down 1.4 percent from two years ago. RevPAR reached $59.52, it was $59.57 the prior week and down 17.1 percent from the same period two years ago. None of STR's to 25 markets recorded an occupancy increase during the period compared to two years ago. Tampa came closest to its pre-pandemic comparable in the third week, down just 1.7 percent to 72.1 percent. It also posted the largest ADR rise, up 14 percent to $151.74. The only RevPAR increase was also registered at Tampa, up 12 percent to $109.39.

RENOVATED BEST WESTERN OPENS IN HUMBLE, TEXAS - 0 views

    The Best Western Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport is now open in Humble, Texas, following a comprehensive renovation. Previously it was a Baymont by Wyndham. The 52-room hotel is owned by Houston-based Wayside Investment Group, led by Miraj Patel as president. It is near the Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport as well as several restaurants, the Deerbrook Mall, Jess H. Jones Parks and the Old MacDonald's Farm. Amenities include a fitness center, meeting room, guest laundry and business center. It is pet friendly. "We are thrilled to open this newly renovated hotel and join the community by offering visitors traveling the Houston-area, a new and memorable travel experience." said Patel. "The transformational enhancements to this acquisition continues to demonstrates our commitment to value creation and best-in-class guest satisfaction."

Magnuson opens sixth hotel to its Independent Collection - 0 views

    MAGNUSON HOTELS HAS added a new hotel to its Magnuson Independent Collection portfolio, the Studios & Suites 4 Less Charlotte, in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is the sixth hotel added to the Independent Collection by owner Ray Patel of Charlotte. The 126-room hotel is near Charlotte Douglas International Airport, The Billy Graham Library, the NASCAR Hall of Fame and the Levine Museum of the New South, according to Magnuson. The new hotel looks to draw a 52-week nonseasonal business base from the regional banking, finance, software, and biotech sectors. Charlotte is also home to the Research Triangle Park, a globally prominent research center with over 170 companies and federal agencies in the U.S. "When Ray Patel called us in 2005, he wanted to build his own brand called Studios & Suites 4 Less, and that is exactly what Ray did," said Thomas Magnuson, CEO of Magnuson Hotels. As Patel's team manages the Studios & Suites 4 Less brand and operations, Magnuson Hotels provides the technology, distribution, and marketing for the brand. "We appreciate our partnership with Magnuson Hotels, which is now entering its 17th year of consecutive increases," said Patel of Charlotte. "It is a pleasure and privilege to continually add new properties in our home market of Charlotte, North Carolina," he added.

STR: Weekly U.S. hotel occupancy falls in first week of March - 0 views

    U.S. HOTEL OCCUPANCY was down in first week of March week-over-week, according to STR. All metrics were higher than comparable time periods in the last two years. Occupancy stood at 62.8 percent for the week ending March 4, down from 64.2 percent the week before, 3 percent more than the comparable week in 2022 and 5.6 percent below the comparable week in 2019. ADR stood at $151.35 for, up from $156.51 the previous week and also up 8.9 percent and 14.1 percent over the same month in 2022 and 2019, respectively. RevPAR was reported at $95.06, down from $100.43 the previous week, and up 12.1 percent and 7.7 percent increase over the same month in 2022 and 2019. Among the Top 25 Markets, Detroit saw the highest occupancy increase over 2019, up 5 percent to 63.2 percent, while Washington, D.C., was up the most from last year, an increase of 23.6 percent to 64.1 percent. D.C. also reported the most substantial year-over-year RevPAR growth, up 52.2 percent to $113.56. Las Vegas reported the highest ADR increase at $196.65 when measuring against 2019, up 56.8 percent and an increase of 33.7 percent in 2022. Las Vegas also saw the largest jump in RevPAR over 2019, up 54.3 percent to $153.55.

The 101-room Tru by Hilton Brooklyn, which opened in March, marked the brand's debut in New York city.     U.S. HOTEL PERFORMANCE declined in the third week of January compared to the previous week, according to CoStar. Despite this, year-over-year comparisons yielded mixed results. Metrics such as occupancy, ADR and RevPAR experienced a decrease during the week compared to the preceding period. Occupancy was 52.2 percent for the week ending Jan.20, a marginal decrease from the previous week's 53.3 percent, signaling a 3.8 percent year-over-year decline. ADR dropped to $142.27 from the prior week's $153.84, showing a 1.6 percent increase from the previous year. RevPAR decreased to $74.31 from the prior week's $81.96, reflecting a 2.2 percent decline compared to the corresponding period in 2023. Among the top 25 markets, Seattle experienced the largest year-over-year occupancy increase, rising by 9.6 percent to reach 54.1 percent.

CoStar: U.S. hotel performance improves in fourth week of January - 0 views

However, year-over-year comparisons remained mixed, with key metrics like occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR experiencing an increase compared to the preceding period. Occupancy came in at 56.2 percent for the week ending Jan. 27, up from the previous week's 52.2 percent but down 0.3 percent year-over-year. ADR increased to $149.76 from the prior week's $142.27, a 5.1 percent rise from the previous year. RevPAR rose to $84.13 from the prior week's $74.31, reflecting a 4.8percent increase compared to the corresponding period in 2023. Among the top 25 markets, Las Vegas exhibited the highest year-over-year growth across all key performance metrics: a 28.9 percent increase in occupancy to 83.4 percent, a 46.3 percent rise in ADR to $228.37, and an 88.5 percent growth in RevPAR to $190.42. This performance surge was attributed to the SHOT Show and World of Concrete events.
