Pulse of the Planet visualize tweets in real-time using Google Maps. Sensation and Perception Experiments Two experiments which I designed and ran for my Sensation and Perception class in Fall 2009. They are designed to measure counting thresholds. Both experiments use HTML5 canvases which requires a modern browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Life on a Canvas simulation of Conway's Game of Life and I added a bunch of features to make it interactive. Go ahead and enjoy it! Tier3 Tier3 attempts to build itself as a layer on top of social news sites like Digg and reddit.  Pong written in JavaScript Radius Radius is a portal-esque web page. Shiny graphics, Ajax, and APIs are at the heart of this prototype. It may not be practical, but it is an experiment in making a portal type page.

Beat Sequencer in HTML5 - 7 views

  •
A drum machine! Click the buttons you want to play while the loop is going. Then press "Run" and listen to the beat magic. You can change the tempo, too, if you'd like-just stop the loop (by pressing "Run" again) and then edit the bpm. Right now the sequencer only works in Safari and Firefox because Chrome doesn't support aif/wav files yet-and Internet Explorer is… well… Internet Explorer. On the bright side, there's no flash or other plugin involved. It's all HTML 5 and JavaScript. Created by Jesse Jackson / Pattern86.

font dragr | A HTML5 web app for testing custom fonts | The CSS Ninja - 2 views

Drag and drop your truetype (ttf), opentype (otf), scalable vector graphics (svg) or Web Open Font Format (WOFF) fonts in the left hand side module and it will be added to the list. The last font dropped will change the font-family of this text and the above title. At the moment this functionality of dragging and dropping files from the desktop to the browser is only available in Firefox 3.6. You can expect to see this added to other browsers in the near future.
