Monkeys Could Talk, but They Don't Have the Brains for It - 0 views

  •
Primates are unquestionably clever: Monkeys can learn how to use money, and chimpanzees have a knack for game theory. But no one has ever taught a nonhuman primate to say "hello." Scientists have long been intrigued by the failure of primates to talk like us.
  •
i found this article interesting because it is mind boggling to think that there could be a world in which humans are not the only animal speaking. Also, I learned that monkeys have a vocal track in which language could potentially come through but it would be very limiting.

South Korea Enters Period of Uncertainty With President's Impeachment - 0 views

  •
Ms. Park's powers are suspended while the Constitutional Court considers whether to remove her permanently. If it votes to do so, South Korea will hold an election for a new president in 60 days. Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn will serve as acting president.
  •
I found this to be intriguing because it shows a world leader who has been impeached. In my life, it feels as though I have never really heard of someone being impeached in the last decade. But I know before the 21 century, there have been many impeachments in the past.

Is This What We'll Be Wearing in the Future? - 0 views

  •
It was hard to keep the characters in "Mad Max: Fury Road" and the cosmonauts in the 2017 movie "Life" safe. The first group of characters were in a post-apocalyptic hell, the second colonizing a space station, and all of them needed all-in-one, all-weather, all-sustaining garments.

I found this article interesting because when read it made me think about how society continuously makes assumptions what will happen in the future. But reality many of these technological advancements movies and books may never come or won't for a long time.

Italy Just Handed the Global Economy Another Giant Variable - 0 views

  •
The widening spread between lower-yielding German bonds and those issued by debt-saturated European countries amounts to a flashing indicator that investors see risks for the southern periphery. These market moves were muted because the results had been anticipated. Indeed, for Europe and the rest of the world, this dynamic was uncomfortably familiar.
