Classroom Energy is presented by the American Petroleum Institute, the primary trade association and research institute of the oil and natural gas industry in the United States to:
* Provide teachers and students with engaging and informative resources on energy and related concepts, including the vital role of oil and natural gas in modern life.
* Offer high-quality teaching resources and lesson plans, developed by respected leaders in education such as the American Association for the Advancement of Science and Project Learning Tree.
* Make use of the latest online and computer-based technologies to enhance the learning experience, such as games and interactive modules designed for independent study.
This community has been created to celebrate and support the creativity and dedication of all those who participate in the education of young children. Teachers, parents, aides, and administrators are encouraged to explore these resources and share your ideas for working with young children. We will be updating these pages regularly in the months ahead.
The common denominator among parents who choose K¹² for their children is the aspiration to remove barriers that keep them from reaching their true potential-whatever those barriers are for their children. These parents are passionately motivated to resist restrictions imposed by a learning environment that is not well-suited to their child's unique need. They understand the power of individualized learning and are willing to get involved.
The K¹² curriculum, widely recognized as representing the gold standard in K-12 online education, offers rich, challenging, and engaging content. Offline materials, including textbooks, CDs, videos, and hands-on manipulatives, complement interactive online elements to address different learning styles and maximize the learning experience for all students.
