Parents As Teachers - 0 views

  •
Parents as Teachers is the overarching program philosophy of providing parents with child development knowledge and parenting support. The organizational vehicle for delivering that knowledge and support is Parents as Teachers National Center. The National Center drives that philosophy, or mission, through four program areas: Born to Learn, Professional Development, Meld and Advocacy. All of these program areas work through a strong network of state leaders and partners. The four-part intervention model known as Born to Learn delivers its mission-based program through intermediaries (parent educators) to the ultimate recipients (parents), while Professional Development is delivered directly to end users (professionals). Meld is a facilitated group model that draws on peer support. Advocacy works through both public and private sectors to promote positive policies for young families. Although several vehicles are used to implement the mission-based programs, the network is an organized affiliation of many organizations and people with a common mission. This combination of delivery vehicles allows the National Center to have the greatest and broadest impact.

With a sleek and thin design that makes Kindle 2 as thin as a typical magazine and lighter than a paperpack, the new Kindle has seven times more storage and now holds over 1,500 books. It has a longer battery life and faster page turns. An advanced display provides even crisper images and clearer text for an improved book-like reading experience. What is Creative Writing? Creative writing is anything where the purpose is to express thoughts, feelings and emotions rather than to simply convey information. I'll be focusing on creative fiction in this post (mainly short stories and novels), but poetry, (auto)biography and creative non-fiction are all other forms of creative writing. Here's a couple of definitions:

K-12 Home School - 0 views

The common denominator among parents who choose K¹² for their children is the aspiration to remove barriers that keep them from reaching their true potential-whatever those barriers are for their children. These parents are passionately motivated to resist restrictions imposed by a learning environment that is not well-suited to their child's unique need. They understand the power of individualized learning and are willing to get involved. The K¹² curriculum, widely recognized as representing the gold standard in K-12 online education, offers rich, challenging, and engaging content. Offline materials, including textbooks, CDs, videos, and hands-on manipulatives, complement interactive online elements to address different learning styles and maximize the learning experience for all students.
