Socrative lets teachers engage and assess their students with educational activities on tablets, laptops and smartphones. Through the use of real time questioning, instant result aggregation and visualization, teachers can gauge the whole class' current level of understanding. Socrative saves teachers time so the class can further collaborate, discuss, extend and grow as a community of learners.

Once the class settles in and things are rolling along, the steady hum gets louder when kids are excited or working together, then quieter again when they're working out problems on their individual little whiteboards (to be clear, these are not digital).

Teachers can use the notes they have on Power Point and import it into Prezi. 4. Prezi offers more freedom of navigation. Your Prezi can be kept in the public domain and therefore accessed by your students on the Internet. At home, they can navigate the Prezi themselves, observe connections of ideas and visualize concepts. 5. Since Prezi is cloud-based, teachers can present their lessons from your browser, desktop, iPad, or iPhone and always have the latest version of your work at your fingertips. This is the tool I choose for my lesson this week.

Tons of free social studies resources including clipart, PowerPoints, games, and videos. Lots of information for students and teachers about a plethora of topics.

This site is especially useful for teachers like myself that may not have the resources to make copies of works for students to review.
